Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day!
It is celebrated on February 17th every year.
We all know that a simple act of kindness can make someone's day and can even change the life of someone.
AND the best part? You don't have to wait for ONE day to be kind or to partake in random acts of kindness. You can spread joy in your community all year long.
BUT, just for today think about doing a random act of kindness for someone.
Here a few ideas that come to mind:
Pay for the car behind you in the drive thru.
Go to the grocery store and purchase a $5-10 gift card (or more if you can afford to) and leave it with the cashier, ask her/him to give to someone that is a little short or may be struggling, in some way.
Bake cookies and take to a neighbor.
These next things won't cost you any money:
Help a neighbor carry in bags.
Hold the door for someone.
Smile and compliment a stranger on an outfit/shoes/hair, etc. you never when someone needs a kind word.
Help someone you see struggling.
Let someone in front of you in line.
If you have littles, get them involved. It's never too early to learn and spread kindness.
I know sometimes people may look at you weird. In today's world kindness is often overlooked, but it is appreciated by the recipient.
Just think: If each of us does our part to spread joy, then the world will surely start to become a happier place for everyone.
